Property Refurbishment

Property Refurbishment in Berkshire

For homeowners and buyers taking on a full, high-end refurbishment, Buckhurst Construction manages the entire project under one roof, one contract, and one point of contact, rather than coordinating separate trades yourself.

What full refurbishment covers

A full refurbishment typically means every element of a property is upgraded within a single, managed project: structural work, first and second fix, kitchens and bathrooms, electrics, plumbing, heating, and finishing, coordinated as one programme rather than a series of separate jobs. This differs from a room-by-room renovation in scale and how the project is run.

One contractor reduces risk

Splitting a full refurbishment across multiple contractors means you're the one coordinating timelines, resolving disputes between trades, and absorbing the risk when one delay pushes everything else back. Managing the whole scope under a single contract means one team is accountable for the programme, the budget, and the quality of every element, not just their own piece of it.

Our process.

  • Modern kitchen refit with grey cupboards and black bar stools.

    Initial consultation.

We visit your property, discuss what you want from the space, and give you an honest view on what's achievable. We understand that every build is different, so we’ll take the time to dig into what it is you really want for your home.

  • Downstairs reception room renovation with automatic dark wooden doors.

    Design and quote.

We develop a design brief and provide a detailed quote before anything is agreed. We also advise on whether planning permission or permitted development rights apply, and manage the building regulations process alongside a structural engineer where needed.

  • Build.

A dedicated site team manages the build from groundworks through to finishing, with regular updates so you always know where the project stands. We only use the best tradesman, so you can guarantee that your project will be completed to the highest standard.

  • Image of a his and hers sink in a newly renovated bathroom project.

    Handover.

We complete a full walkthrough and snagging check before we sign off to make sure that you are 100% satisfied with the work that has been completed.

Why choose Buckhurst Construction?

We're a Federation of Master Builders (FMB) member, which means our work is independently vetted against FMB standards, not just self-certified.

We manage the whole project ourselves rather than quoting and disappearing, so the team on site is the team you met at quotation stage.

We build extensions across Ascot, Sunningdale, Windsor, Bracknell and the wider Berkshire and Surrey area. If you're outside this list, get in touch — we're often happy to travel for the right project.

FAQs

What counts as a full refurbishment rather than a renovation?

A full refurbishment covers the entire property under one managed programme, from structural work through to final finishes. A renovation typically covers specific rooms or areas rather than the whole property in one project.

How long does a full refurbishment take?

Timescales depend on the size and condition of the property and the scope agreed. We provide a project-specific programme once the survey and scope of works are complete.

Do you manage planning and building control for a full refurbishment?

Yes, any planning permission or building regulations approvals needed across the scope are managed as part of the project programme.

How much does a full refurbishment cost?

Cost depends on the size of the property, its condition, and the specification chosen, so we don't estimate a figure without a full survey. Get in touch for a tailored quote.

Can I stay in the property during a full refurbishment?

Given the scale of work involved, most full refurbishments require the property to be vacant for at least part of the project. We'll talk through what to expect based on your specific scope.
